Caterpillar has more than 1,000 suppliers, and certified only 23 at the Silver and higher levels.
Honda quality award
We were among several suppliers to receive the Quality Performance Award for 2005. The Quality Performance award is awarded to the top suppliers within commodity groups for their quality performance, as measured by the Honda of America (HAM of Birmingham, Alabama) quality index. This award recognizes the efforts of our global team to provide APTs for AC, 142PS for transmission applications, and 170PS for OPS applications.
Attleboro site honored by EPA
In 2002, we were honored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for “commitment to superior environmental performance.”
Ray Lizotte, an environmental engineer explains: “The Attleboro site became a Charter Member of the National Performance Track in December, 2002. This was the successor program to the Star Track program that (Sensata) had been part of since May 1995.
“Each year, program members are reviewed and EPA decides whether to maintain the facility in the program. Since the start of the program, 5–7% of the participants are bumped from the program for poor performance. Fortunately, (we have) continued to make the grade year after year.”
Sensata Technologies is among an elite corps of suppliers to earn Northrop Grumman Corporation’s top award for quality, delivery, and meeting key Northrop Grumman goals.
According to Chris Oumedian (right), field sales representative for Sensata, “U.S. Air Force Major Jocelyn Swayze delivered a moving speech about Northrop Grumman products from the end–customer perspective. She emphasized the importance of quality and on–time delivery from suppliers.
