ATTLEBORO, MA (OCTOBER 3, 2000) | Texas Instruments announces another addition to its broad portfolio of sensors for
the industrial market — the Combined Pressure Temperature (P–T) Sensor. This sensor combines accurate in–stream temperature
measurement with the proven reliability of TI’s core ceramic pressure transducer. This unique combination offers improved system
monitoring and control for a variety of industrial applications, with a proven track record in the demanding automotive environments.
"This combined pressure–temperature sensor can help solve a key application challenge — providing more system information without
doubling sensors, connectors and wiring requirements," said Louis Leyes, product manager at Texas Instruments Sensors & Controls.
"The power of the added piece of information — completing the relationship of pressure, volume, and temperature, directly measured
in the medium – gives our customers powerful data to apply to their control systems."
Like many of TI’s ceramic pressure sensors, the pressure output is ratiometric to input voltage, and the 0–5Vdc high level output
design requires no end–user amplification. Available in 0–150 or 0–500 psi models, this sensor is compatible with a broad range of
media, and the packaging can be tailored to the most demanding environments, including plant automation and control, hydraulics
and pneumatics, compressor and pump control, alternative power solutions, HVAC/R and construction equipment.
