Sensata Technologies B.V. announces election of Thomas Wroe as Chairman of the Board



ATTLEBORO, Massachusetts | July 12, 2006 | Thomas Wroe, Jr., Chief Executive Officer of Sensata Technologies, Inc. was elected Chairman of the Board at a meeting of the Board of Directors on June 29.

Wroe joined Texas Instruments in 1972 as a manufacturing engineer after earning a BS in engineering from the University of Rhode Island. During his career at Texas Instruments, he held a variety of management assignments in operations, engineering, marketing, and business development across all of the businesses in Materials & Controls. Wroe was named president of Materials & Controls in June 1995 and senior vice president of Texas Instruments in March 1998. The business within TI was renamed Sensors & Controls in September 2000 and was purchased from TI by Bain Capital in April 2006.

Wroe is chairman of the Associated Industries of Massachusetts, a member of the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Business Roundtable, and is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation. In addition, Wroe is a member of the Board of Advisors to Boston College’s Carroll School of Management, and the Board of Directors of Cape Cod Healthcare.

Sensata Technologies B.V., formerly the Sensors & Controls business of Texas Instruments Incorporated, was purchased by Bain Capital, LLC, a leading global private investment firm, on April 27, 2006.
