Every year, the road race is dedicated to one special person. Here are some of those wonderful people.
2006 — Tori Rando
When Tori Rando was 15 and an honor-roll student and cheerleader at King Philip High School in Wrentham when she was diagnosed with cancer. She began chemotherapy treatments for a type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in January of 2005. Her determination, combined with the skills of professionals at Dana-Farber, have since eliminated the cancer, although Tori must continue to get frequent check-ups to ensure she remains cancer-free and healthy. 2005 — Beth Nagy
Beth Nagy, a young mother in Attleboro diagnosed with breast cancer. Beth was diagnosed only four months after she gave birth to her daughter Olivia. She also has a stepson, Josh, and son, Jack. At the time of the race, she was undergoing chemotherapy at Dana-Farber.
2004
The 2004 race had no specific patient associated with it.
2003 — Laura Zilch
In 2003, Laura Zilch was an 18-year-old North Attleboro resident who just finished her freshman year at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. Laura was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in June, 2001 and received treatment at Dana-Farber.
2002 — Megan Williams
In 2002, Megan Williams was a 15-year-old freshman at Holliston High School, diagnosed with bone cancer on March 3, 2000.
2001 — Peter Kryptowicz

Pete Kryptowicz was an employee of Texas Instruments, who died of cancer on March 24, 2000. Pete was instrumental in organizing the first road race in 1998 under the sponsorship of the Attleboro Community Relations Team and worked tirelessly to get the race established, to contact sponsors and to promote the race within the greater New England running community.

The TI Dana-Farber 5K Road Race and Fun Run was dedicated to the memory of John Hannigan, a Texas Instruments Materials & Controls vice president and Human Resources director who died in December, 1997 after a four-and-a-half year battle with cancer. |
