Personal Information Sensata collects

This Site may provide opportunities to download files, use services, buy goods, or request quotes, which require you to provide information to us.  If you do so, we may collect and process personal information about you such as:

  • Payment details, where appropriate;

PRC Privacy Notice Supplement

The Personal Information Protection Law of the People’s Republic of China (“PIPL”) affords natural persons located in the People’s Republic of China (“PRC”) certain rights with respect to their personal information.  This Privacy Notice for PRC residents supplements the information contained in Sensata’s Privacy Notice and applies solely to individuals who reside in PRC (“users” or “you”).

Bases for Processing

We process the personal information of individuals located in PRC for one of the following legal bases:

Because we have your consent to our processing of your personal information;

When the processing is necessary to conclude or fulfill a contract that we have with you;

When the processing is necessary to fulfill our legal obligations;

Personal Information We Collect

Use of basic business functions available on the Site will require you to provide certain personal information to us since the operation of these functions will rely on such personal information. You may also choose to provide us certain personal information which is not necessary for our basic business functions but is helpful for us to improve our Site, products, and services. Your use of the Site will not be adversely impacted if you refuse to provide such additional personal information to us.

The operation of the basic business functions provided by us as described below will require you to provide or allow us to collect the following information:

Request Quotes: When you request quotes from us about certain products, we will collect the following information, including your name, address, email address, phone number, and records of your correspondence with us;

Use Services: When you use our services, e.g., customer support services, you will be required to provide your information as mentioned above for us to provide our services; and

Download Files: When you download files, we will collect the following information including browser type, hardware model, and other device information.

Extended Business Functions

We will automatically collect certain types of information whenever you use our Site.

Browsing: When you navigate our Site, we will collect details of your visit to our Site and the pages and resources that you access, such as IP address, cookie information, etc. We may also derive information or draw inferences about you based on the information we collect. For example, we may make inferences about your location based on your IP address or infer that you are interested in purchasing certain products based on your browsing behavior and past purchases.

Personal Information We Share

We share your information under various circumstances as mentioned in the “How and When Sensata Discloses and Shares Your Personal Information” section above. We will share your information in accordance with the requirements of the PIPL and other relevant data privacy regulations. If we share your information to other personal information handlers, we will inform you of the name and contact information of such personal information handler, the processing purposes and methods, and categories of personal information to be shared. We will also obtain your consent before sharing your information with such personal information handlers.

Data Transfers

If our cross-border business requires the transfer of personal information collected within PRC to a foreign entity, we will do this in accordance with requirements of PIPL and other relevant data privacy regulations as well as the regulatory body. Before carrying out specific transfers, we will inform you of the name, contact information, processing purpose, processing method and type of personal information transferred across the border to the extent required by applicable laws and regulations, and obtain your consent. We will also require such foreign entity to keep confidential of your personal information and ensure that your privacy rights are adequately protected by appropriate technical, organizational, contractual or other lawful mechanisms, such as standard contractual clauses (when applicable).

Storage Period

Unless otherwise required by applicable laws and regulations for the storage period, we will delete or anonymize your personal information at the latest after the expiration of the two-year period.

Exercise Your Rights

If you wish to inquire, copy, correct, supplement or delete your personal information, and exercise other personal data subject rights under applicable laws and regulations (such as explaining the practices of processing your personal information, withdrawing consent to allow us to collect and process your personal information, or requiring us to transfer your personal information to a third party designated by you when the statutory conditions are met, or restricting our processing of your personal information, or refusing us to process your personal information based on legitimate interests, etc., you can contact us by emailing to [email protected].

We will respond to your request to exercise the rights of the personal data subject in accordance with the requirements of applicable laws and regulations and their time limit. To the extent permitted by applicable laws and regulations, we may not be able to respond to your exercise request in certain circumstances. For example, we may refuse to respond to your request if it is contrary to our obligations under applicable laws and regulations or may infringe our trade secrets. In addition, we may also refuse your request if we have sufficient evidence to prove that you have subjective malice or abuse of rights, or that responding to your request will infringe the major legitimate rights and interests of other individuals. In this case, we will provide you with the reasons for our refusal in our response.

California Privacy Notice Supplement

The CCPA (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.100 et seq.) affords consumers residing in California certain rights with respect to their personal information.  This Privacy Notice for California Residents supplements the information contained in Sensata’s Privacy Notice and applies solely to individuals who reside in the State of California (“consumers” or “you”).

We do not sell your personal information.
