A complete Draw Wire assembly that consists of a spring-loaded wire drum typically combined with a rotary digital encoder having two output channels in quadrature and an index as well as the complementary outputs. The sensor is mounted to the wire drum so that as the wire is extended or retracted it causes the sensor to rotate. The digital pulse outputs from the encoder indicate direction and distance traveled.
